Wall Decal Application Instructions
Prepare Decal
Unroll the decal and let it sit flat. The decals have a transfer tape (looks and feels like masking tape) on one side and backing paper (white with lines) on the other side. Gently rub the surface of transfer tape to insure the decal is adhered solidly to the transfer tape. Some decals have several pieces and may need to be cut apart with scissors.
Surface Preparation
Use a tape measure or a ruler to determine the exact area where the decal will be placed. Clean the area with a damp towel and let dry completely.
Our wall decals can be applied to most clean, smooth, & dry surface. Put them on your walls, ceiling, doors, windows, mirrors, tile, sealed concrete, glass & smooth metal.
Do not apply to stucco, brick, or canvas type surfaces. Only apply to wallpaper if you want it to be permanent. Wall decals stick very well to matte paint. More intricate designs may not adhere very well to semi or high gloss paints. Wait 3-4 weeks after painting before applying wall decals.
Application
Use the included test decal to ensure that the vinyl will adhere to your intended surface. Flip the decal over, so the decal is face down, and carefully peel the backing paper away from the decal. The decal cannot be repositioned, so be careful to line it up where you want it. Use the enclosed application squeegee to apply light pressure over the whole design.
For larger decals we recommend applying with 2+ people. You can also use blue painters tape to make a hinge at the top, peel the transfer tape up from the bottom, remove the backing paper, and apply the decal from top to bottom. Another option is to make a hinge in the middle and apply the decal one half at a time.
Transfer Tape Removal
Carefully peel away the transfer tape in a slow and steady corner to corner motion. Peel down towards the decal, not towards yourself. Stop and re-squeegee as needed. Enjoy your new vinyl wall decal!
Wall Decal Removal
Our wall decals can be easily removed, but not reused. Our decals will not leave any residue on your wall when removed. Since we cannot guarantee the condition of all wall surfaces, we cannot guarantee that some paint flecking will not occur. Although not common, you may notice paint flecks on the back of the decals when removed and some minor paint touch up may be required.
